St. Edwards Community Hall

A concept for a new meeting hall building tailored to serve the diverse groups affiliated with St. Edwards Catholic Church. This contemporary structure replaces the original church established on the site since the 1960s. It incorporates flexible meeting spaces accommodating groups ranging from 50 to 500 people. The design employs a straightforward rectangular shape and robust materials that complement the adjacent contemporary church.

A slat wood wall system employed strategically over certain window groups allows for views out while mitigating views inward allowing for modest levels of privacy.
The new interior lobby establishes itself as the heart of the entire building. A large oversize skylight allows for a second story addition to be added later without negatively impacting the layout or quality of the space.
The main structure is comprised wide flange steel columns, dropped glulam girders with raised purlins and with gapped CLT panels. This structure allows for enhance MEPF layout flexibility while maintaining an accelerated install timeline.
